While there are plenty of things to consider for making a new website, we often encounter situations where clients want to improve an old website. While we can certainly offer advice and help you polish up a dated site, we also want to go one step further and make sure we're offering your visitors the best experience possible. At Schweb, we want the renovation process to be as quick and painless as possible, while making sure we stay true to our standards of quality work and your vision for your website.
Talk with Us
Before we start anything, we need to get to know you. You are the most qualified person to talk about your organization, and you know its needs better than us. Although we also do this kind of thing via phone, we would be happy to set up a meeting with you--either at our Leola office location or another place at your convenience.
We'll take the one-on-one time to sit down and look at your old website. At this point, you'll probably have a lot of great ideas--maybe you want to add social media feeds to your homepage, or maybe the design is retro--and not in the good way! We'll also make suggestions base don our experiences, like what might work better as a menu structure or other ways you could manage your website's content.
But equally as important as features and design, it's important for us to know and understand your business goals, mission, customers, and vision. In the long run, this will help us make smart decisions that reduce time requirements and result in a better website.
Get an Estimate
After we've talked about all the nitty gritty stuff, you're going to need an idea of what it will take to get your website where you need it to be. We'll sketch out a time/cost estimate that will show you how quickly and cheaply we can produce your website, breaking down time segments by things like design, software installation, data migration, and copywriting.
Don't worry--we'll use our best judgment to make sure you know ahead of time what both the best and worst case scenarios might look like, and we'll work hard to stick to this plan. If you decide other work is needed in the future, we'll be happy to add it to the workload and give you an honest ballpark of how much it will add to the initial costs.
After we've come to an agreement on the work that needs to be done and how long it will take to do it, we'll send you a statement to sign, and then the fun stuff begins.
Let Us Do the Work
At this point, we'll dig right in to the agreed tasks. We don't only work hard--we also strive to work smart. We'll try to save you time by working on some tasks concurrently.
For example, we can set up a stage site that will let you see all the changes we're making before we make them to your live website. From here, we can start migrating and adding content and, at the same time, have another team member working on a new logo.
Of course, if there's work you feel comfortable doing yourself, like copying over old blog posts or uploading images, go ahead! We want you to save money where you can. Just let us know!
We will also stay in constant contact with you throughout the project with status updates, ideas, and feedback. If we discover that something is going faster or slower than intended, we'll let you know immediately. And, of course, if you have new ideas, we would love to hear them and see how we can work them into your current project.
The Final Touches
When your stage website is almost done, we'll get ready to transfer everything to your live domain. At this point, we'll do sweeps for editing, look at features that may need additional tweaking, and generally make sure that your website is ready to do what it was created to do: serve your visitors.
Finally, it's the big day. Your website goes live and, amazingly, everything goes smoothly!
Or maybe not. While we'll work our hardest to make sure your website launches with minimal hiccoughs, we also won't leave you hanging if the gears stop turning, even if it means working late nights or early mornings. And, if you decide any other changes are necessary, we'll be happy to do those, too.
Whether you suddenly have a new vision for your website or you desparately need to update an old one, Schweb is here to help. Get in contact with us today to set up a free, no-obligations consultation!
